THERAPY SUPPORTS
We currently provide Occupational Therapy services to Early Intervention and School Age clients which includes, assessment, recommendation, therapy and training to support with capacity building.
Therapy supports are delivered by a qualified and experienced therapist working in partnership with you, towards the goals you have identified as a family. We can support your child with developing communication skills, social skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and their functional participation across meaningful activities and environments.
INITIAL CONSULT
An initial consultation is required when beginning therapy. This consultation provides an opportunity for us to get to know you and your family, identifying any strengths, interests and challenges, and developing individualised goals together. During this consultation the frequency and duration of sessions will be discussed and ongoing therapy will be booked directly with your therapist. The initial consultation is usually 60 minutes in length.
ONGOING THERAPY
Ongoing therapy sessions will be delivered in the setting you choose and will be conducted in a safe, relaxed and non-judgemental way. We will work with you and your child to understand and embrace the unique strengths and characteristics of your family. We use a strengths-based approach to support skill development that enables increased participation and engagement in self-identified meaningful activities and settings. The purpose of ongoing sessions will be to develop individual and family capacity so that your child and family are resilient to the challenges of life. The frequency and duration of ongoing sessions will be discussed with you in the initial consultation.
ASSESSMENTS
We offer a range of assessment services which can be requested as part of your therapy services with Resilient Kids Therapy or as stand-alone assessments for school or NDIS Access requests. All assessments are completed using a combination of parent report, observation, and standardised assessment tools. All assessments include a report with recommendations at the end.
